What does it look like to you to divert from your primary purpose? 2. How will you know if you've diverted? 3. Page 157: "We of AA could not be all things to all men, nor should we try." Have you tried to be "all things to all people" in your own life? 4. Have you ever wanted to align a 12-step program name to any related facility or outside enterprise? 5. Have you ever wanted to align a 12-step program name to your own personal cause or business? 6. How can you be a watchdog for this tradition in our 12 step groups? 7. What would you do if you saw a violation of this tradition going on in your groups? 8. How can you apply the principle behind this tradition -- "no endorsement" --to your own personal life? Ask someone -- sponsor, close friends, family -- how they see you. 2. Write this down for reference: Does it need to be said, does it need to be said now, and am I the one to say it? 3. Do you have any defect that you talk about a lot? What are you really doing about it? 4. Can you postpone dealing with some of your problems indefinitely? 5. Look up "bluffing." 6. Regarding character defects, has God revealed to you what you need to work on? 2. Are you patient with yourself? On a scale of 1 to 10, how patient are you with yourself? 3. Where have you seen improvement in character defects being lifted out? 4. Are you "entirely ready" in those areas you need improvement? 5. Describe to the best of your ability your "entirely ready" experience. 6. What is your degree of readiness to give up your character defects? 7. Go through the list of character defects under the Step Six handouts on the website: "Step 6 Character Defects vs Character Assets." Print it out. Bring it to Quiet Time. Write out your character defects as God shows them to you. Get your index cards. Write the defect on one side and the other side write the asset. On the card, write your degree of readiness to let it go, and if you find resistance, write why. Have you seen that in your life? 2. Where are you with the issue raised in paragraph two Page 65 about the measure of our character defects? 3. Sticks analogy: Can’t control the sticks in my life but can control the core, the core being God- centeredness and our disciplines of recovery. Write about this in your life. 4. Give an example of a stick in your life, something you didn’t see coming or notice, and it tripped you up. Write about the need for having a strong core in God.
