Soul Work: Reading from Chapter 2 in the AA Big Book, "There is a Solution." Page 20, paragraphs 3 and 4. Group workshop question: 1. When you were having a hard time getting sober, what were the comments that helped you the most to get sober? And how do you handle it when somebody questions what you now do to stay sober? Buddy questions: 2. When someone says something in a judgmental tone or unkind to you, first recognize that it hurts. Second, ask yourself if there is any truth to what the person is saying. Then ask, do I need to speak to this person about this? Do I say something? Does it need to be said by me? Write on some of the things that you say in a positive recovered way when people say things to you. 3. Do you have anyone in your life ignorant or misunderstanding of your recovery? 4. Write this down: Denial -- Don't Even Know I Am Lying. Denial is a coping mechanism. For people to come out of denial is God's job, not mine. Write about this. 5. Are you willing to tell people the truth when people ask you questions about what you do? Can you say it once and let it go? Reminder: For one month (from 8/6/19), the workshop will be 1 hour long, with Stephanie sharing for 20 minutes, writing for 10 minutes, open reading, then 3 minutes of quiet time at the end. At the end of the month, group conscience will review the format. END
