Soul Work: Reading: Chapter 2 in the AA Big Book, "There is a Solution." Page 18, paragraph 4, “But the ex-problem drinker...” to page 19, first paragraph, ending at "occupations and affairs." Group workshop question: #1 below. Definition: Look up "deportment" Buddy Questions: 1. Do you believe, as an ex-problem drinker who has found a solution, that you can make a difference? Give an example, such as at your job, in your family, in the world. 2. When was the last time you did something and got honest with your sponsor? Do that now: Write it down and read what you wrote to your buddy and then to your sponsor. 3. What is your description of the "real answer?" What is the real answer for you, and what would be the real answer you give a prospect? 4. What does "Holier Than Thou" mean? Write about the attitude. Do you have a holier than thou attitude? 5. The "sincere desire to be helpful." What does that mean to you? Give an example when you just showed a sincere desire to be helpful. Give an example when you didn't. 6. How many of you tried to please people in the 12-step halls? 7. How did you do this week in respecting people's boundaries? 8. Do you have an inner desire to have other people think and believe the way you do? 9. Can you accept that your boundaries are a gift to those we meet, so that we don't step on their toes? 10. Write about "100 percent honesty with kindness about our boundaries keeps other people safe from our potentially hurting them." 11. How are you doing "practicing these principles" in all your affairs? Next week: Group conscience during the meeting for feedback on the workshop format, length, and attendance. END
