Seldom did we look at character-building as something desirable in itself, something we would like to strive for whether our instinctual needs were met or not.
Q1a). Write about being self-satisfied in a positive way.
Q1b) How can I come out of this situation with character-building, feeling grateful?
[This means going against our selfishness. We need to stop and ask ourselves: what character-building action do I need right now? Do I need to be honest with others, myself, live one of my morals? Doing the next right action that you can take to Quiet Time and feel good about. .]
Q2 a) Write about a situation when you chose character-building over the alternative.
b) Write on a situation where you failed to choose character-building.
‘We never thought of making honesty, tolerance and true love of man and God the daily basis of living.’
Q3. What does 100% honesty and tolerance look to you?
Write about what it looks like when you think of making 100% honesty, 100% tolerance of others (live and let live) and true love of others a way of life. Brotherly love, really caring for the guy on the street or the cashier behind the counter and having a good attitude about the world.
[Own your own morality and honesty. Learn what your morals and values are. You have your sex ideal but it is only one ideal. You need an ideal in your job, as a child of your parents, being a member of a community, a congregation, etc. You need all your ideals and to put them together to create character building. When you live up to those ideals you are building a character . How can you do that without an ideal?]
