Street angel, house devil. What does that mean to you? ‘When he has made such amends/reparations as he can to his family, and has thoroughly explained to them the new principles by which he is living, he should proceed to put those principles in action at home.’ Q2. Take an inventory of yourself. a. Have you made living amends to your family? b. Have you made formal amends to your family? c. Are you living those amends? In your family are you living as one among many or is it always about you and your recovery? Q3. Have you accepted what you are? [For instance: Are you a moderate in one area, e.g. cluttering and then perhaps a problem gambler and maybe a food addict.] Q4. Do you accept what you are in the areas you know you have had problems with and addiction? (If you do not understand the difference you will probably get very discouraged). Write this down: We have lost our right to find fault with other people. Q5. Am I willing to accept that? Write this down: In Al-Anon sobriety is to be kind and courteous. Q6. How are you doing with this? [In the Big Book we heard two other words: friendliness and helpfulness].
