Soul Work: Chapter 2 in the AA Big Book, "There is a Solution," page 22, third paragraph, first sentence: "Perhaps there never will be a full answer to these questions." Definition: look up the word “opinion” Questions: 1. Why do you think people want to have an answer as to why people go back out? 2. Why do you think there may never be a full answer as to why? 3. What do we do when a long-timer or anybody picks up? How do we help them? 4. Write on this: "The farther away from the last drink, the closer you are to picking up." 5. God as an acronym for Good Orderly Direction. Does that help you in keeping yourself on the path of sobriety? What is your Good Orderly Direction? How can you use this acronym for God with someone who has broken sobriety or is at a tough place balking at the idea of God? 6. Can you live in the ambiguity that perhaps there never will be a full answer? How do you get your answers? 7. Workshop writing question: How are you going to formulate a recovered God-honoring opinion of how you are going to live your life? Write out the steps for formulating a God-honoring recovered opinion of yourself. 8. Assignment: Incorporate into your quiet time this week a 10-minute writing time to write, sit, and listen to God.
