When you think of the fifth step, do you see why Stephanie would say it's like a trampoline? 2. What do you think about this sentence from p. 59? “Too much guilt and remorse might cause us to dramatize and exaggerate our shortcomings.” 3. Are you carrying guilt and remorse that might be causing you to dramatize and exaggerate? 4. Do you feel guilty or remorseful about something, anything? Write it down and write an action plan. Do I need to do steps 1, 2 and 3 on it, or steps 4 and 5 on it, or call a sponsor or just tell someone? 5. When we feel angry, often we go into feeling guilty. Why? 6. How do you handle anger today? 7. What does hurt pride mean to you? Give some examples. How do you handle hurt pride today? 8. What liabilities that you unearthed during your fifth step did you learn that you didn’t know before? (End)

Take this sentence and write out what it means to you: "More realism and therefore more honesty about ourselves are the great gains we make under the influence of Step Five." 6. What’s your definition of pride? Give me an example of when you were prideful. 2. Give me your definition of humility. Give me an example of when you moved a muscle and were able to take an action to be humble. 3. When you don’t want to tell someone something, what is your action plan to be? Who can you call, talk to or text? 4. Look up “sincere.” 5. Three steps of recognizing our deficiencies: we need to be able to see it, we need to be able to admit it to God, to ourselves and another human being, and we need an action plan. If there is anything you need to put through these three steps, write it down now. 6. Refer to p. 58: "All of us saw, for example, that we lacked honesty and tolerance, that we were beset at times by attacks of self-pity or delusions of personal grandeur." Can you relate to that?
