Do you have an improved perception of humility? And do you have a revolutionary change in your outlook? Write this down: EGO: Ease God Out. The ego is all about me me me. Used rightly, self-will is a gift from God. No self-will, no sobriety or recovery. Don’t denigrate self-will. Without it you roll up and die. You can use self-will in a self-destructive way. You bring your self will to Quiet Time every day. How do you think you get to Quiet Time if you don’t do it with self-will? What we don’t want is ego which is selfishness and self-centredness brought to the max. Q2. What does ego mean to you and what does living a humble life mean? Are they opposites? Q3. Write about your self-will. Is it important? How you have used and abused your self-will? Q4 Write about physical and emotional suffering. How does that come about? Then write about using your self-will to chose to stay in emotional suffering or using the self-will to go to God, others and choose humility and to be the best person you can – even though you may have physical or emotional pain. [If you only do one question make it this one.You are going to glean a lot about yourself. Take the time. Do it. You need to know about yourself and how you are operating. And you need to make an action plan so you can live in humility and have serenity and have peace. That is our God-given right. And it is the end product of true recovery]. 3/17/2016 0 Comments Recording For March 17, 2016(week 120) 17 March 2016 12-step study all addictions big book workshop

Look at the positive: we do take the actions. Top of page 74, ‘…do the right thing.’ circle the word ‘do’. Look up: grudgingly. Q1. From your experience of doing steps 1-6 write down what you know to be your major mistakes in life. Then, with God’s help on a 3 x 5 card, write the opposite . Do these simple three steps. Get the material by writing out your mistakes Write out the opposite on 3 x 5 card. Carry the card with you and bring it to God in Quiet Time ‘Progress not perfection.’ Q2a) How are you doing with that attitude? Q2b). How can you implement an attitude on that slogan so you can let go of perfection? Q3.Knowing something about yourself that needs to be changed and not doing anything about it, is self-abuse. Write on that. Q4. Write down these slogans: Action without prayer is nothing more than self-will run riot. An action plan without accountability is a recipe for failure. It doesn’t matter how you do, just do it. Easy Does It but Do It. Move a muscle, change a thought. Move a muscle, change an attitude. Repetition is the father of learning. Q5. Whats your opinion of humility as a desirable personal virtue? Q6. Do you recognise humility as a necessary aid to your survival? Q7. Where you see humility in the world with parents, spouse, partner, work, friends etc.? ‘To those of us who have hitherto known only excitement depression or anxiety – in other words, to all of us…’ Q8. Meditate and write down all the victories over your difficulties that you have had since you started this 12-Step Study Big Book Workshop. Q2 Are you being God-honouring with all areas of your life? Q3a) What does a whole lifetime of self-centredness mean to you? b) List some areas where you are not like that any more. Q4a) What is your definition of rebellion? b) Write a history of rebellion in your life. ‘When we have finally admitted without reservation that we are powerless over alcohol, we are apt to breathe a sigh of relief, saying, “Well, thank God that’s over! I’ll never have to go through that again!” Then we learn often to our consternation, that this is only the first milestone ion the new road we are walking.’ Q5 Do you believe that? Or do you think I am sober, what more do I have to do? Q6 What do you believe about the road, and the end of the road? [If I don’t know what is going to be expected from the God of my understanding I cannot live the best I can today]. Q7 To keep you from being hurt, are you clinging to some mistake that you constantly make? |
