This Week's Soul Work: Reading: Chapter 3, "More About Alcoholism,” first paragraph page 39 to page 40 first paragraph 1. Do you still carry around any shame about being an alcoholic, food addict, codependent, whatever you are? 2. Do you believe that it's absolutely true that you won't be able to stop drinking on basis of self-knowledge? 3. Have you ever met anyone who was able to stop drinking on the basis of self-knowledge? 4. What was your experience of trying to stop on the basis of self-knowledge? 5. Were you self-deceived into thinking you could stop on the basis of self-knowledge? 6. Has there been a person you've once talked to about addiction who has ever come back to you? 7. Take the story of Fred, put yourself in it as much as you can, and look at the parallels. How much can you relate to Fred? Where are you today? Are you stuck where Fred is? 8. Workshop question: Main addiction aside, what is a problem in your life? Relationship, debting, cluttering, something you know is a problem or someone has told you is a problem. Take a full minute to ask, "God where is there a problem in my life?" Then answer... What area of your life do you know you need to put into the triangle? (Giving to God, being transparent with recovery programs). Has anybody told you that they see a problem, or is it just between you and God? Have you told anybody that you have this issue? Have you made an action plan around it? Write out today's action plan. END
